7 out of 10 adults suffer from Stress & Anxiety, but not all stress is bad! Acute stress – or short-term stress – is usually a result of specific events or situations that involve novelty, unpredictability, a threat to the ego, and leave us with a poor sense of control. This type of stress can be good for you because the stress hormones released as a result of these situations can help your mind and body deal with the situation.

On the other hand, chronic stress – or long-term stress – is not good for your body and mind. Repeated exposure for long periods of time may contribute to the breakdown of many bodily systems. Many scientists believe that our stress response system was not designed to be constantly activated. Unmanaged long-term stress has been linked to heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type II diabetes, and depression.
