The ability to recognize sounds and identify their location is possible thanks to the auditory system. Do you know how your ears work? Learn more about the science of hearing in this blog!

Your hearing can help signal many things to your body. The loudness of the sounds, what the sounds sound like, and which direction it comes from are one of the few traits of hearing that help give your body information about your surroundings.

The auditory system is comprised of two main parts: the ear, and the brain. The ear’s task is to convert sound energy into neural signals while the brain’s task is to receive and process the information that those signals contain. Learn more about the auditory system in the video below!
