Why do we have to wear sunscreen?

Jan 20, 2020 by

Moderate sun exposure may have benefits for your health such as:

  • stronger bones,
  • improving sleep quality,
  • better mood, and
  • a healthier immune system.

However, the ultraviolet (UV) radiation emitted by the sun can damage the skin if you aren’t careful enough. Overexposure and direct exposure may cause problems with your skin and more.

Limit your exposure to direct sunlight by using sunscreen, plan to be outdoors when the sun isn’t as strong, or wear protective clothing. Sunscreen is helpful as it acts like a shield for the skin.
