Compote is when you take some fruit and preserve it or cook it in syrup. Compote is perfect for waffles, French toast, sundaes, and oats – you can use it anywhere for when you want some sweet yet healthy toppings!
For this berry compote recipe, you only need 2 main ingredients. You would need berries and orange juice. Then, cook it and stir. You can add some chia seeds for an extra boost of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants, iron, and calcium.
Compote is different from jam – compote is either a syrup with fruit in it or a fruit puree while jam is fruit boiled in it’s own juice or water until reduced and sticky.
